Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer – Azure, M365 & Zscaler | NOC Escalation & 1st Line Support Enablement

The Role:
Working within the Infrastructure Team and reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for supporting, improving, and delivering Microsoft and Zscaler-based solutions, while acting as an escalation point beyond 1st line support capability. This position plays a dual function:

1. Delivering technical engineering projects across Azure, M365, and Zscaler, and

1. Supporting the 1st Line Help Desk by resolving escalated tickets, providing guidance, improving documentation, and uplifting capability.

You will contribute to cloud migration workstreams, troubleshoot complex incidents, and ensure customer environments remain secure, available, and well-managed.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Microsoft & Azure Delivery

● Delivery of engineering tasks across Microsoft platforms:
– Microsoft Azure (IaaS, networking, RBAC, identity)
– Microsoft 365 (EXO, Teams, SPO, OneDrive)
– Microsoft Intune & device enrolment/policy management
– Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access
– Sentinel, Defender, cloud security tooling
● Assist in migration work from legacy/on-prem to Azure & Microsoft 365 services
● Support hybrid identity and cloud architecture improvements

Zscaler Security (Core Requirement)

● Hands-on configuration and administration of Zscaler ZIA & ZPA
● Troubleshoot access, policy routing, authentication, and traffic performance issues
● Act as escalation owner for Zscaler incidents and root cause remediation

Support Escalation + Help Desk Enablement

● Act as L2/L3 escalation point for the NOC and 1st Line Help Desk
● Assist the help desk with technical guidance, troubleshooting and issue ownership
● Resolve escalated tickets end-to-end — communicating updates, root cause and resolution
● Create knowledge base articles, runbooks & documented procedures to reduce repeat escalations
● Mentor and develop the 1st Line team to improve self-resolution capability and service quality

Project Work & Customer Engagement

● Deliver project work against defined scopes under the Head of Infrastructure and PMO
● Participate in pre-sales discussions and help shape Statements of Work where required
● Provide clear documentation including build guides, handovers, configuration records
